Wedding card commission

O dear... I've been a naughty Stacey and let mt blogging fall a tad behind! I've been getting loads of babysitting time in with my gorgeous little niece instead while her mummy and daddy move house so I have to admit, I'm not at all sorry :p lol.
Anyhow... even though I haven't been blogging, I've still been getting creative and making my cards.
I gad a commisuin from a lady a few days agonlooking a wedding card. She herself makes cards however was a bit stuck on this one as it was for her sons wedding and she had a specific theme she wanted on it which was throwing her a bit. I of course stepped in... any excuse to get making lol.
Her specifications were coral (her sons wedding theme) and she wanted the army incorporated somehow (her son serves in the army). This was a little tricky however once I figured out what I wanted to do, it was easy enough... especially seeing as the coral and camoflague worked so well together.
This is the card I ended up with. (Apologies in advance for the poor lighting and picture quality).

For this card, I matt and layered gold glitter card (from b&m) with coral coloured card ( I didn't have any coral and wouldn't have had it delivered in time if I ordered it, so I coloured white supersmooth card from Papermill Direct with one of my Spectrum Noir markers... CR8 to make it coral). I then layered camoflague paper I printed onto white supersmooth on top and using my new mariposa dies from 'couture by Create and Craft', cut the top layer apso from white supersmooth card. I cut the extra layer of heart from the same papers and once again coloured with my SN marker ( inalso used this for my ribbon which was originally white). Using my Craft Artist Studio software, I typed my sentiments for the front of the card and the verse for the insert and changed the colour of my text with the picker tool so it would match perfectly. I layered all these onto either coloured coral card or gold glitter card and added to the card. Using my CR8 marker, I also then coloured the tips of a handmade rose (not sure if the make as I had them lying loose in my stash) and added this on top of the bow on the front of my card.
Overall I loved how this card looked and ended up having to make a matching box as it was too deep for the envelope with the flower in it. *picture will also be attached of the insert and matching box). Hope you like :) x

A special ladys birthday! :)

Its my grannys birthday today and although I've had her card made for a week, (I got new dies and just had to play lol) I got a text last night at 11pm from my dad asking if I could make him and one of my sisters a card for her from each of them.
Always last minute with that man lol.
Anyways... i figured it was a chance to use my most recent Lili of the valley purchases and see what I could come up with. Results as follows :p.

This is my card for granny that I made last week using my new couture by create and craft dies.i live this collection... the mariposa. They make beautiful card with little work. To make this one I just used an 8x8 card blank, some mirror card and some white super smooth. For the front I just matt and layered the mirror and supersmooth card and then cut the mariposa reflections die out of white supersmooth. For the inside I matt and layered the card again and cut the pop up die out in gold and then snipped it out of the card. I just had to add some bling on a roll for the centre of the butterfly and hey presto :).
Now for the last minute cards lol.

For this card I used the papermania capsule collection papers matt and latered with navy card from Papermill direct. The image is from Lili of the Valleys James and Jenny Bear art pad which I cut out using a sizzix die. I cut the 'GRANDMA' using tattered lace dies and stuck them on to white card which was then layered onto the navy. I added some navy satin ribbon from my stash too and card number one completed :).
For this one I used an image from the English Charm art pad from Lili of the Valley. I also used LOTV papers from the 'bonnets and bowties' collection which i matt and layered into lilac card from Papermill direct. I finished this one with a tattered lace 'mum' and pearls, ribbon and a handmade paper rose to finish.
This card was an extra one I did for my youngest sister to give to granny. This time I used a mixture of papers... papermania capsule papers and a paper I had in my stash. I had planned on sewing around all the layers on this card but my sewing machine thought different. Instead onlynthe middle layer got sewn and the top layer was just pierced. I used an image from James and Jenny bear art pad for this one aswell and die cut 'GRANDMA' out of the bottom paper. I used satin ribbon from my stash with a paper flower on top and some pearls to finish it off. All the layers were distressed around the edges too which helped add tobthe look I was going for.

All in all I think I did a decent enough job for a last minute one and considering how tired I am, I was quite impressed lol. As for now,  ingear my bed calling. Night all :)

Another pretty mini album :)

Ooh how I love mini albums lol.

This weekend was a long one that seemed never ending and left me extremely bored so to pass the time, I found myself on YouTube and Pinterest looking at mini albums again. Nothing to get you in the crafting mood like looking at other peoples pretties.

So after a lot of deliberation about whether I should pull all my crafty bits and pieces out again (I had just tidied EVERYTHING away on Friday and had the living room once again looking liveable :p) I figured sod it... its only mess and hey presto... crafty living room and paper speckled floor lol. I also ended up with what I think is a really pretty mini album to make up for it and I wasnt bored anymore so win win lol.

Anyways... using a chilboard album i bought on ebay for pretty cheap, a few pieces of satin ribbon (and one piece of lace ribbon) a few sheets of linen effect cream cardstock and papermania capsule collection wild rose papers this is what I ended up with.  (be warned... this post is going to be photo heavy. Can't leave any pages out after all).

I   I went pretty easy on embellishments for this album as I havent decided what its going to be used for. Initially I had planned a wedding album like the previous blue one I'd done but when I looked over it again,I though it would make a really cute baby album. The colour palette lends itself to so many options so I might just put it up for sale as is and decorate/embellish accordingly if at all wanted. Its such a cute album it doesnt need too much adding besides maybe a few pearls and flowers etc anyways.

Hope you like it as much as I do! :) x
