Birthday cards!

Before heading away on holidays, my aunt asked me to make a couple of cards for two of her children who would have birthdays while we were away. Both recipients will have received the cards by now so I guess its safe to show them :).  I wasnt given any specifications for these cards but seeing as I know one of my cousins is an avid footballer, I knew exactly what card I wanted to make.

I've had this HunkyDory kit 'Man Of The Match' for ages and was waiting for the perfect time to use it... none more perfect than this. Everything needed fpr this card, bar the gold mirror card for the matting came in the kit so just needed put together. The image is a decoupage one however i did t feel like i needed to use all the layers as there was a lot so i just built up about 3 or 4 layers using 3d foam pads. This gave the card a lot of dimension. I stuck the sentiment flat using wet glue to keep it in place. The brilliant thing about these kits is that they come with matching inserts so using my Craft Artist 2 software, i typed a sentiment and printed it onto the matching insert and again layered that on the gold mirror card.
For this card, I used another image from Saturated Canary, 'Nevaeh,' and hand coloured her with my Spectrum Noirs to match the papers I had on hand (not sure of the name but when i find it ill put it up). I finished the card with lilac ribbon i had in my stash and with lace i bought at the local haberdashery. Quite happy with how pretty this card turned out as was my aunt :).
