Anyways... It's been quiet on the card scene recently... Life has just got in the way and unfortunately, I havent had as much time for crafting. I have even unfortunately had to step down from two of my design teams as I was no longer able to find the time to do projects for all 3 within the time scale needed as well as keeping on top of my usual card orders and, well life really. It was a hard decision choosing which ones to step down from as I loved them all and there were fantastic ladies in all teams. Two of them were run by the same admin so I decided it was easier to just drop those as it would be easier altho they did say whenever I was ready to come back, there was always a place for me. How awesome are they not!
Anyways... The team I still participate in is The Crafty Addicts... I found this one the easiest to keep up to date with where commenting etc was concerned. I really love seeing people's work and think it's really inportant that I do keep up to date and let them know how much I appreciate them participating in challenges and how talented they are as crafters so it made sense that this be the team I stayed on in. I love it as everything's all together and because it's a Facebook page, I can do my job from anywhere seeing as I'm always in Facebook anyways and it's easily accessible.
This months challenge with The Crafty Addicts was 'bling it up!' Definitely one of my favourite themes... I mean, who doesn't like a bit of sparkle lol. Our sponsors for this challenge were the awesome A Day for Daisies and Morgan's Artworld.
I chose an image from A Day for Daisies called Braid In My Hair. I have seen this image used before by other people in their cards and always loved how amazing it looked. I wasn't actually sure who made the digi but of course when I came across it while searching for the digi I wanted for this challenge, it was a no brainier. It is a beautiful image and so elegant. It's so versatile for women or girls cards. I really don't think you could go wrong with this one.
I coloured my image using pro markers. I only have a few of these but even with my limited colour palette, I really love how she turned out. This is my make...
I used this card as a sweet 16th for my little sister who has gorgeous long hair like this image. Pairing it up with pretty bright papers and a bit of coordinating ribbon really sets it off and the little sprinkle of gems around the girl and also on the sentiment helps with the Bling It Up theme we had for this challenge.
This definitely was a popular challenge with the team as, well... It's bling lol. Pop over and take a look at the amazing projects the team have come up with and why not add your own little blinged up project so we can see your amazing work too. Like I said earlier, I do love looking at others work and see what they come up with. Just click on the blue 'The Crafty Addicts' link above and it will take you to our Facebook page.Looking forward to commenting on some gorgeousness :).
Until next month...
